A SPCA
The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. The ASPCA was founded in 1866 as the first humane organization in the Western Hemisphere. The Society was formed to alleviate the injustices animals faced then and continue to face today. I have included the ASPCA's links to useful information on foods and other substances that can be toxic and deadly to your pet as well as information on why spaying and neutering is in your pet's best interest.

Longpaw recommends the use of the Premier Easy Walk Harness to control dogs that pull excessively. I have not used traditional or choke collars on my dogs for over 25 years. I prefer the use of harnesses instead to take pressure off a dog's neck. The Easy Walk Harness is the best I have found in that it controls pulling without causing discomfort or injury. Thank you to all of my clients that made the change. You have made walking your dog much more enjoyable. I have included links to information on this harness below:

Association of Pet Dog Trainers
http://www.apdt.com/
The professional organization for dog trainers that promotes the use of positive training techniques to assist dogs in learning good manners and acceptable behavior instead of coercion, physical correction, or punishment. Please note that some members may not use positive training methods. Always ask a trainer you are interviewing if he/she uses choke collars or employs the the practice of physical "correction" in their training approach. If he or she does, they do not use positive training techniques.
